What Matters Most

This week God put in my heart a very simple, yet extremely powerful message. I was listening to this song. If The World Was Ending, you can see the lyrics here https://bit.ly/3juuyXi

I ask you now to do this exercise. It may change your life, seriously.

Close your eyes and imagine that a huge comet is in a collision course with Earth. In 8 hours the World will end. There won’t be pain and suffering. It will just disintegrate almost instantaneously. But you have only 8 hours. What would you do?

I would get my wife and daughters and I would hug them tight. I would kiss them and tell them how much I love them. I would pick up photo albums and remember all the good moments we had, and I would kiss them and kiss them and tell how much I love them. I would enjoy every second of those 8 hours.

Then God asked me, why do you have to wait for the world to end to do what is important?

Studies about dying people’s wishes found that they don’t ask to see their bank account balance, or pictures of the things they accomplished. The number one thing dying people ask for is to see their loved ones, get in touch with friends, see their pets one last time.

The most important thing in the world is readily available to us everyday, Love.

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.1 Peter 4:8

And of course my favorite bible passage 1 corinthians 13:4-8

And if you heard of the big rocks exercise (you can see it here) remember to take care of your big rocks first, because truly nothing else matters.

Who are you going to love today?
