Dad: Well, we know Jesus was crucified on a Friday, Good Friday, and he was resurrected 3 days later on Sunday …
Daughter: But Dad, if Jesus was crucified on Friday and resurrected on Sunday, that would be just 2 days.
Dad: Well …
Daughter: Dad John 20:1 tells us that “Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.” So she got there very early on Sunday and Jesus had already split. That does not even make for 2 day!
Dad: Yes, but …
Daughter: And why in the world we call it Good Friday? Did we not kill Jesus by crucifiction? Why is this good?
Dad: You see …
Daughter: And how Mardi Gras and Easter are connected? Isn’t lent 40 days? But between Mardi Gras and Easter is 47 days?
Daughter: And how do we figure out when to celebrate Easter? Why do we look at a full moon to calculate Easter? And where did the Easter Bunny come from!? While Jesus was being Crucified there was a bunny laying chocolate eggs around?
Dad: Look, if we try to explain everything, most likely we won’t be able to make sense. Just like the bible, for over 2000 years people have been trying to mock it and prove that there is no scientific proof that those things happened. But guess what? There is not. And guess what again?
Dad: For more than 2000 years people still believe, not by reasoning, but by faith.
Daughter: So we must believe just because God said so?
Dad: No, you believe when you FEEL God saying that He loves you in your heart. You believe when you see Jesus working miracles in people’s lives today, you believe when you FEEL the power of God working in your life. But doubt, scepticism and cynicism drive you away from God’s truth.
Daughter: But how can we know that He is risen?
Dad: When you feel that he is alive, inside you. That He has risen indeed, inside you. And that is why we celebrate. That He is alive and living inside you, through you and for you.
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26
Dad: Do you believe this?
